The call for submissions for The Corona Book of Horror Stories is now closed.

We received a fantastic response to this call and have been blown away by the quality of the stories we received. The very final selections are now being made, and the book promises to be a truly great anthology. We’d like to thank everyone who submitted stories for The Corona Book of Horror Stories, whether or not their selections are chosen to make the final cut. The overall standard of submissions was very high - there’s a lot of writing talent out there!

Rude humour that laughs at life's irritations

We’re also excited to be able to announce this forthcoming title, which like The Corona Book of Horror Stories will be published this autumn. Mischieverse is by the author of the bestselling The Horse Lover’s Joke Book (and business-writing guru) Suzan St Maur. More details to follow soon.

Also in this month's news, we're delighted to be able to announce (at last!) the launch of FrogmortonCulpepper.com, the dedicated website for Frogmorton Culpepper Saves the World by Keith Trezise (OUT NOW!)

It’s the latest (certainly) and greatest (possibly) Corona Books UK website and features a number of origami rhinos. Let us know what you think.

Keith Trezise, the author of Frogmorton Culpepper Saves the World, will be making a number of personal appearances to promote his book this month and in the coming months. Check his Twitter feed for the latest details. If you can make any of the events, we’d love to see you there.

We’re delighted to announce the publication on 1st May of two new titles to join our small but growing catalogue.

Firstly, to prove that we’re nothing if not unpredictable, and to prove that we can publish serious and worthwhile books as well as those offering you the finest in vulgar humour, there's Whitefaced Woodland Sheep Society Flock Profiles by Philip Onions. This book is all about sharing information about this rare and ancient breed of hill sheep, and is illustrated with over 100 colour photographs.

Secondly, Frogmorton Culpepper Saves the World by Keith Trezise is also OUT NOW. This book is a work of humorous science fiction and the first novel from its award-winning playwright author. We think it’s brilliant - I know we would say that - and we’re also very proud to be able to feature on its cover a cleverly-folded origami rhinoceros, and not just any cleverly-folded origami rhinoceros, but one designed and folded by David Brill, Vice President of The British Origami Society (www.brilliantorigami.com). As we say in the back cover ‘blurb’, if you want to know why it has an origami rhinoceros on the cover, you’ll just have to read the book!

Click on either of the covers of these new titles above for more information about them, and stay tuned (or sign up for free email updates) for details of the Meet the Author events we'll be holding in May and June to launch Frogmorton Culpepper Saves the World.

AUGUST 2017 NEWS

forJulyonly3

In an outbreak of summertime madness, for this month, July 2017, and this month only, all our available Kindle titles are just 99p. There’s never been a better time to dip your toe in the Corona Books UK waters – maybe to see what the filthy limericks are for the British or Scottish towns you know, or for the colleges of Oxford and Cambridge universities; or maybe to enter the dark world of our master of modern macabre, T.R. Hitchman; or maybe to enter the highly amusing world of Frogmorton Culpepper – Frogmorton Culpepper Saves the World is a great holiday read.

Actually more than dip a toe – we’d like you to dive in!

Click on any of the book covers you'll find on our site for the Amazon.co.uk listing for the book, or you can find our Kindle editions on Amazon worldwide for an equivalent, similarly stupidly low price in dollars or euros or yen or dinars or krone or ... you get the general idea.

No Kindle – no problem. Kindle e-books can be read on any device – your phone, laptop, PC or tablet – with this simple free Amazon app. There really is no excuse! Sale event ends 31st July 2017.

Mischieverse

Rude humour that laughs at life's irritations

Mischieverse small

It’s time to unveil the cover art for this forthcoming title which we will publish this September.

“Rude, irreverent and downright filthy ... like Johnny Rotten meets Pam Ayres”, Mischieverse is rude humour that laughs at life’s irritations.

We’re delighted to have author Suzan St Maur on board for this title. She is both the author of the bestselling The Horse Lover’s Joke Book and a highly-acclaimed business-writing guru. Mischieverse isn’t about horses (or business), though. It’s about the annoyances and absurdities of life today –  the things that drive us all crazy, and how to laugh at them. It’s a great gift title for anyone not too easily offended.

"Snarky, quirky, downright rude, Suze skewers pop culture: its language, fashion, politics, entertainment. Not even family and cherished holidays escape her cutting wit. Through it all, she manages to make us laugh at ourselves and the silliness of contemporary life."

Barbara Grengs, Author of the Toby Martin series of children’s mystery novels and Delicate Dames (forthcoming)

The Corona Book of Horror Stories is coming this autumn. As some of you will know, we’ve been announcing the authors and titles of the 16 stories it will contain at the rate a one a day during late-July. You can now read the complete list here. It’s also now time to unveil the cover art that you see on the left here.

The Corona Book of Horror Stories is a collection of some of the best new horror writing. Therein you will find the products of dark imaginations, certainly; and something to scare you, revolt you or unnerve you, probably - it depends on how jaded and degenerate a soul you are. What we can promise you is a wealth of new writing talent with a variety of different takes on what can constitute horror. There's the tale of the breakfast that is life-changing (and not in a good way), the story of the loner whose obsession in life is keeping parasites ... among many more dark delights to be found inside.
